anderby sea house
A Beachfront House on Lincolnshire's Wild Coast

In The Guardian's July 2008 article '10 top UK coastal holidays',

Anderby Creek was described as "an unspoilt gem"".

It lies in the middle of five miles of wild, unspoilt sandy beach in one of the driest regions of the UK. In the sand dunes, 250m walk from Sea House, a bird hide overlooks the Anderby Marsh and Wolla Bank reed bed nature reserves, which lie between the coastal dunes and the ancient Roman Bank. The new Anderby Marsh reserve, owned by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, is a haven for birds and will form the core of the ‘Lincolnshire Coastal Country Park’.

In addition to five local nature reserves within 3 miles, three of which are within 1 mile, the national nature reserves at Gibraltar Point and Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe are an easy 30 minute drive away. The national nature reserve at Doona Nook (site of a large grey-seal breeding colony) can be reached in 40 minutes.

Although quiet and unspoilt, Anderby Creek has a licensed beachside café, a pub, two restaurants, a laundrette and a village store. There are also pubs, restaurants and ‘takeaways’ in the nearby seaside towns of Chapel-St.Leonards and Sutton-on-Sea, and the historic market town of Alford.
